I know most of the news on here has been Marvel heavy, but Marvel has been throwing a LOT of bones out for fans to chew on… While DC keeps Batman V. Superman under tight wraps, and while all other major films that I’d love to talk about haven’t released hardly ANY news, Marvel keeps dropping bombs day after day, whether it be teases to upcoming comics events, or film news, or well, anything Marvel related, Marvel has no shame in keeping us in the loop.
With Phase 3 being announced, it’s opened up some fair speculation as to what Phase 4 will bring. I’ll get there, don’t worry, but in the mean time, let’s talk about what Phase 3 has to offer. What does Age of Ultron mean for the future Phase? There was a [SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT] rumor that the end of Age of Ultron will see Hulk trapped in a ship with Ultron headed off world, headed towards an uninhabited planet. So Planet Hulk? Not so fast… Mark Ruffalo already said Planet Hulk would not be happening, but that doesn’t mean Hulk won’t appear in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. The Guardians could be seen trying to assist Hulk in getting back to Earth, which could draw the attention of Thanos and line everyone up for Avengers 3. Hulk wouldn’t be getting a solo film, but he’d be getting a spot in another film, giving him more screen time, and well deserved screen time at that.
Civil War is even easier to figure out. After Hulk’s departure, Cap and Iron man are at each others throats over how everything played out, drawing a line in the sand between the two former allies, and the two will start on a path towards setting up their own teams. The fight comes to a head in Captain America: Civil War, leading to Cap’s death in the end at the hands of Crossbones, bringing Tony and the disparate Avengers back together, just in time for Thanos to bring his attention to Earth.
With Phase 3 seeing the Guardians sharing slots with Doctor Strange and Black Panther, there are two other ideas I had that might be making appearances in the future: The Illuminati (Iron Man, Cap, Doctor Strange, and Black Panther, among others) and The New Avengers. Rumor has it that Marvel will be doing a “Soft reboot” in Phase 4 with a new team of Avengers (Probably the Defenders from Netflix, with Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and Wolverine, provided Marvel gets the X-Men back.) There are so many ways this could go, considering a lot of the big name heroes are going to be running into re-negotiations, and possibly retirement.
What do you guys think? Let us know!
