Here at Zac and Chuck Untitled Podcast we are all a part of the fighting game community. Since season one we have reported on new fighting game releases as well as even paid tribute to the classics through Remember Whens, and Nerd vs. Nerd. So this week when Capcom leaked the trailer for Street Fighter V I couldn’t help but get excited. Street Fighter IV was one of my favorite fighters. Since first hitting the arcade as a kid and fighting with people over whether Street Fighter II or Mortal Kombat II was a better game, Chuck and I have been fans of the genre. The short answer is that they are both amazing.
The teaser footage (as little as there is) looks beautiful, and I can’t wait to see more from Street Fighter V. The one big take away is that during the trailer Capcom revealed that the game is going to be a PS4 PC exclusive. This move leaves Xbox One users out in the cold. This could be either be a time only exclusive and the game will be coming later, or it could be related to Microsoft’s lack of market share in Japan Capcom’s home turf.
One interesting feature for online multiplayer is cross-platform. If you own a PS4 and your friend has the game on PC, you can play together online. It’s about time this became a thing!
Time will only tell if Street Fighter V gets released on Xbox One, but for now check out the teaser and let us know what you think in the comments.
